Things have been pretty laid back around our house. I’ve been busy doing odds and ends around the house to get ready for Maggie’s arrival but its boring stuff like washing blankets, cleaning the car seat… BORING! ;)

The weather has been gorgeous this week, so we’ve been outside a whole lot! Last night, Levi and I met Mom and Dad for dinner at Tumbleweed. Many of you know that Levi adores his Papa. I asked what he wanted for dinner and he said “Papa, what are you having?” Dad said a burrito. Levi said “That’s what I want!” Um, he’s never had a burrito!! But, we ordered one and he ate a good chunk of it. He was so proud of himself. Of course, Levi wanted to ride with Papa to his house and play on the tractor and gator. So, Dad got the John Deere toys out for him and Mom and I sat outside and watched him “mow grass”. It was such a pretty evening!! I’m just trying to soak in as much time with Levi as I can before our whole world changes!!!

I had my 36 week check up on Monday afternoon. No real news to report, but everything looks good. I gained 4 pounds over the last two weeks which puts me at 11 total. GAG. I can tell the end is near….. woo hoo!!!! I will be going to the doctor weekly now until THE BIG DAY!!!!!! In less than 4 weeks, we’ll have a new baby girl. It’s hard to believe the time is almost here.

I’m trying hard to think of something exciting to tell you, but, it just ain’ happenin’ today! Stay tuned, though. Maybe tonight something blog-worthy will happen.

Yes, you have to bathe

A conversation I had with Levi last night as we were coming inside from playing:

Me: Go turn your bath water on and get ready and I'll give you a bath.

Levi: I don't need a bath.

Me: Yes you do.

Levi: Nuh-uh. I took one last week.

Me: Sorry, but you must bathe more than once a week.

Levi: But I don't have any stink on me!!

Me: Yes, you do.

Levi: No, I don't. Smell my head.

Me: (after smelling his head) It stinks.

Levi: How about this...I'll take a bath, but you only wash my head, not my body.

Me: Your whole body needs washed.

Levi: How about this...just my head and my hands?

Geesh....I think Levi will grow up to be a negotiator. :)

All of these things made my heart smile. I truly had a fabulous day with my family. But, I have to say that above the love that I have for my family, I am blown away at the love that Jesus has for me. Our day started with a great worship service at Graceland and I just felt so thankful. Thankful that the story of Jesus didn't end at the tomb. He is risen, indeed! I am thankful that I have the HOPE of Heaven. Living eternally with God in His glory. I cannot even fathom what that means, but dang, it will be wonderful! I'm so thankful that God chose to love me.

I've had a lot of fun decorating Maggie's room! Pulling out all of Levi's baby stuff certainly brought back memories!!! Getting her room put together definitely makes having another baby feel all that more real. I can't wait to hold her...

Levi was just a few hours old here. I showed Levi this picture and said "Do you know who this is?" He looked puzzled and said "Is that baby Maggie?" :)

I guess all we need now is a baby.

a shower for Maggie

Seriously...I have the greatest group of girl friends in my Bible Fellowship class at church!!! :)
They wanted to do a shower for baby Maggie. I tried to talk them out of it just because I didn't want a fuss, but they insisted! Everyone brought a brunch food and it was incredible!! Monkey bread, french toast casserole, pinwheels, a fruit tray, hashbrown casserole, cinnamon rolls, egg rolls, a baked veggie ring...I hope I named everything!! It was soooo unbelievably good! My sister brought this cake...
A-dorable! I think it was one of the cutest cakes I've ever seen. And, it was moist and yummy!

Oh, and Janna was in charge of the games. They were quite fun!! My favorite was these three crazy ladies chugging apple juice. They had to see who could drink it the fastest with a newborn nipple on the bottle! Hilarious!! Gretchen said her jaws hurt afterwards. Poor gals!! :)

strawberry & banana...

Laffy Taffy makes me happy! I made a trip to Hobby Lobby over my lunch break to pick up ribbon and a letter “G”. (I have letters to put up in Maggie’s room, but right now the letters spell MAGIE because they were out of the “G” last week. They are still out…hope to have it in on Monday.) Anyways, I decided to go ahead and pick up a little bit of candy for Levi’s Easter basket. Pez, jelly beans, Easter egg gum…and then…there it was. It was like a bright light from Heaven shinning down to point the way. This trip to Hobby Lobby was for me and me alone. Laffy Taffy. And, let me tell you, it wasn’t just any bag of Laffy Taffy…it was a bag of strawberry & banana only. I wanted to find a store worker and thank them. I wanted to sing the Hallelujah Chorus. I wanted to do that little jump in the air where people kick their feet together. I wanted to take the rest of the bags and put them in my cart…would that have been excessive? Maybe. Now, I need to make a disclaimer and say there is nothing wrong with sour apple, grape or cherry Laffy Taffy. I’m not trying to be discriminatory. I just HEART strawberry & banana. :)
