Maggie seems a little better today and I'm hoping WAY better by tomorrow so that this little ballerina can go out and get Mommy some candy! ;)

sickies
Tis the season, huh?!! I guess lots of sickies are going around. Mags has had a terrible cold that started to get better, but then got worse. :( Yesterday, Friday, she woke up from a nap screaming. Over an hour later, I still couldn't get her calmed down. Eric came home from work around 2:30 in the afternoon to help out. (At least Daddy couldn't get her calm either!) She finally slept about an hour, but then woke up crying again. This time, I called for reinforcement - GRAMMY!! I also called her doctor. OH MY WORD. I love our new pediatrician. Dr. Lane - she is wonderful. It was around 6pm by this time and she was at a Halloween party. She told me she'd be home in an hour and to bring Maggie to her house. She had a feeling it was an ear infection. Eric had taken Levi Trick or Treating at school, so my mom went with us to Dr. Lane's. Sure enough, little Maggers had an ear infection and sinus infection. Dr. Lane called the closest pharmacy, ordered her a prescription so I wouldn't have to wait, and then sent us on the way with well wishes. Seriously - I'm so thankful for a wonderful Christian doctor who cares so much about little ones. Oh, and on a side note...when her husband opened the door, he said "Tracey??" It was a friend of mine from college! What a small world. :)

fall party
Today was ALL.ABOUT.LEVI. :)
It was the day we've been waiting for! Fall Party day at school. It's been on the calendar for weeks and the best thing about the party is that Daddy got to go!

They got to make cupcakes ;)

And play with the parachute

sister snots-a-lot
This post is not for those with a weak stomach ;)
Seriously. Snot drives me nuts! Maggie just got over a cold last week and low and behold, IT'S BACK. She was up last night from 3-5am, which means Momma was up with her! I was going bonkers. Today, all she has done is sneeze and then rub her snot across her cheek, in her eyebrows, and if I don't catch it in time, it runs into her mouth. I know...Gross. But since I'm living with it, so are you!
Levi took this picture, so sorry her head is cut off, but doesn't she look miserable?

And, look who is a big girl in her high chair!!

Funny little story: Yesterday, Levi's preschool class was cancelled due to the tornado warnings. We headed to Target. On the way home, he was trying to keep Mags from being unhappy and he yelled "MOM!!! I think I see Maggie's first tooth!!!" When I asked him where, he said, "in her mouth." Well, thank you, Captain Obvious!
Last week was our first parent/teacher conference. I was a little nervous going in and tried to prepare myself that I would hear some "constructive criticism". What I wasn't prepared for was all of the positive things that Levi's teacher had to say!! I mean, I know my kid is great, but to hear someone else compliment so many things about him was just such a blessing to my soul!!! She said that Levi is always respectful to anyone who comes into the classroom. She also said that he is compassionate to all of her special needs students, and very loving to each student in his group and never leaves any one out. She told us a few things to work on at home, which we were aware of, but I have never been such a proud Momma!!! :)![]()

weekend recap!
We had a really nice weekend!! On Friday, this girl I know asked me to watch her kids. Something about "I'm coming in town and want to go to dinner with my sister and need a super awesome person that is really, really cool and that I trust with all my heart to watch my kids..." ;) And, because I fit that category, well... I got to babysit Gretchen's kids. The cool thing about babysitting is that you can give them lots of sugar and let them watch old episodes of BH 90210! (I'm kidding! Sort of...) Levi was excited to have his buddies back in town to hang out with. On Saturday, Jami, Gretchen and I took the kids to the park where they ran their little hearts out and then G & the kids came over to hang out all afternoon. It was really nice just to have time visiting!!!
Today, we celebrated my Granny & Papa's 60th wedding anniversary. Levi always loves going to my aunt's because #1) there are usually a ton of kids running around playing, #2) they get to romp around outside, and #3) she loads all of them up with treats. :) My aunt made this cake for my grandparent's anniversary....who knew she could make awesome cakes??? And it tasted awesome!! I've lined her up for Maggie's 1st birthday already! ;)

And just a few fun shots! My little studly marshmallow boy...

the only thing nice about the stomach bug
is that you don't have to get ready. Ya know? I mean, you feel too bad to shower, which totally means you don't have to do your hair or make up. And for me, this is a nice change of pace. I totally want to bring back the spiral perm and banana clip look! It takes a long time to "tame" my freakishly wild hair!! But, I digress. I had plans to go to the outlet mall with my mom and sis on Friday evening. I was so pumped! BUT, I woke up Friday morning with a nice little stomach bug. Awesome!! Not so much. Friday evening, Eric started feeling bad too. We all went to bed around 8 pm. Then, two hours later, Levi threw up. Agghhh!!! Poor kiddo. Thank the Lord that it was just once and after cleaning everything up, he went right back to sleep and we all slept thru night. Saturday, we all lazed around the house and played, colored, slept, and did lots of other boring stuff! ;) We eventually all got better by Sunday morning and I'm thankful we were able to enjoy our afternoon. I'm praying little Maggie doesn't get anything!!!!!
Move forward to tonight. This evening was our First Annual Chili Cookout for our cul-de-sac. We have lots of new neighbors (three new houses were built this summer) and wanted to officially have a meet and greet. Eric's job was to take care of the chili. He made two big pots and put them in the deep freeze. Here's where my bad cooking skills come into play. He was trying to unthaw one of the pots on the stove over low heat. While he was showering, I decided to turn up the heat so it would get hot quicker. Um, don't do that. The whole bottom of the chili burned. BURNED. Like our whole house smelled like burnt chili. The chili was not salvagable. We had to throw it out and use the other pot. And, because Eric can't keep anything quiet, I guess I will forever be known on our street as the one who burned the chili. Sheesh! Despite the burnt chili incident, the party turned out nice. I mean, it was 90 degrees outside, but everyone seemed to have a good time! I took some pictures, so I'll try to post them tomorrow.
So, now I sit here with a full heart. Thankful that even though it still smells like burnt chili, my family is healthy. Thankful for meeting new neighbors. Thankful that my Colts won today. Thankful for texting and facebook (<3). Thankful that even thought most days I don't count my blessings, God gives me mercy and grace abundantly.![]()

punkins for the punkins!
As we were finishing up BF class at church on Sunday, our neighbors called to see if we wanted to go to Huber's. I was excited because I had told them I would love to take Levi sometime!! :) So, we hurried home, changed clothes and headed out. It was SUPER windy there, but we had a really nice time.
