Patriots Pointe

Today was boys day out! Papa, Travis, Eric, Daniel, Griffin & Levi loaded up and went to Patriots Pointe. This is located in historic Charleston Harbor. It's one of the largest naval museums in the world! It holds the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown that was used in WWII. Patriots Point is home to 4 ships, 25 aircrafts, a submarine and the Medal of Honor Museum. The guys had a good time and Griffin & Levi were pooped when they arrived back for their naps.
While the guys were gone, the girls laid at the pool and soaked up more rays. It's a rough life, but hey, I'm willing to suffer one for the team!
Enjoy some of the pictures of the boys...

And, for all you "weather watchers", here's a shot Eric got during a lightning storm tonight...

A Day at the Museum

Today is Wednesday...another fun day at the beach. Daniel and Tricia bought Krispy Kreme donuts for breakfast - yum! After breakfast, we headed out for the Children's Museum in Lowcountry. It was incredible! They had several different rooms all set up geared for younger kids. There was a castle where kids could play dress up and act like they were knights or princesses. Another room had a huge table set up with boats, bridges and all of it was in water. In this room, one whole wall was dedicated to kids who wanted to paint with water. There was also a craft room where kids could color on the tables with markers. The next room was a play area for kids under the age of 3. There was also a room with a huge replica of a shrimp boat where kids could steer the boat, go fishing with nets and run around the deck. I think the best of all was a grocery store where kids could actually shop for groceries and go to the register to scan them and pay the cashier. There was something to do for each of our kids and they had so much fun! After the museum, we went to lunch at a pizza joint called the Mellow Mushroom. Everyone then headed back to the house for naps (Levi didn't take one!!!) and some swimming. We ate dinner out tonight at Sticky Fingers - a rib joint. Once again, all the kids are in bed fast asleep and I'm able to blog away! Hope you enjoy the pictures. We had fun today!

Another beautiful day at the beach!

We all ate lunch at the Mellow Mushroom. It's a pizza joint in downtown Charleston. It had a fun atmosphere! Travis is probably laughing in this picture because he said something mean about his loser sister.
Emmy liked her sweet potatoes and apples! I think she had pizza crust, too. Yum Yum Water! Jenny at the Mellow Mushroom.
After the museum, the kids all watched tv with Sophia.
After naps, we had dinner at Sticky Fingers - a rib joint. We've yet to find a place that makes better ribs than Dad's! Eric and I split a rack of Sweet Carolina ribs!!Jenny is getting some sweet kisses from Emmers at dinner!!
The rest of the gang at Sticky Fingers...
Mommy & Levi at Sticky Fingers. I was playing with the Elmo telephone and the waiter thought I was actually on the phone! LOL I told him I was just talking to Elmo.
Daddy & Levi ordering some finger lickin' ribs!!
Who is more tired? Papa or Levi??
Here's our little burrito all bathed and ready for bed! Levi didn't take a nap today, so he went to bed extra early...praise the Lord!!!

Lovin' life in South Carolina

It's Tuesday evening and all the kids are in bed (finally)!! It's quite a task to get 5 kids - all 4 years old and younger - calmed down and in bed. Today was a fun day. This morning, Eric, Levi and I watched a storm roll across the ocean. Eric took some pictures that I posted below. Around 8 a.m., everyone ate a big breakfast - pancakes & bacon - and after breakfast, Eric, Levi, Grammy and I went to a few stores around town. After lunch, I laid at the pool while Eric and Levi napped. I think they were out for 3 1/2 hours! Tonight, a professional photographer came to the beach house to take some family pictures on the beach. He was very nice and fun to work with. We're excited to see how they turn out! After our big photo shoot, all the kids (minus the two babies) went to get ice cream at Marble Slab. (Not only did I get introduced to blogging this week, but also to Cake Batter ice cream - YUM!) For some reason, Grammy & Papa didn't go with us and seemed relieved when we all left. Hmmmm...
We're all heading to the Children's Museum in Charleston in the morning. I think all the kids will enjoy it. Then, there will probably be more naps and more laying at the pool. It's a rough life, but someone has to do it. :)

If you look closely at this last picture, you can see a lightning bolt that Eric caught on camera. It was amazing to watch the storm roll across the ocean and not really effect us!

Life at the beach

Here's my first attempt at posting pictures! I hope you enjoy them. We arrived in Isle of Palms, South Carolina on Satuday, July 26th. The weather is gorgeous and the house is sweet! So far, we've eaten HUGE breakfasts (pancakes, monkey bread, eggs, bacon, sausage...oh my!), swam in the ocean and pool, and had fun in the sand. Today is Tuesday, so we stil have lots of fun planned. Yesterday we went into Charleston for a bit. Levi loved seeing the horse carriages. Sophia came with us to help with the kids - she's been awesome! Yesterday, Bailey and Sophia got stung by a jellyfish! They were both brave and this morning, they are enjoying looking at each other's wounds. Well, Dad's bacon is calling my name, so I'm signing off. I'll repost later tonight, so check back!
Daddy and Levi went for a stroll on the beach after dinner.
Mommy took the picture from the top balcony at our beach house.

Grammy watches the kids swim. Why doesn't she want to jump in, too?

The pool at our house is kind of ghetto, but I guess we'll survive for the week.

Look at Levi resting! Great job, Buddy!!!

Uh oh...Sophia was one of the jellyfish victims! Bet she doesn't go back into the ocean anytime soon!

Here's Papa's tractor boys!

Griffin was worn out after a long day of swimming!

A picture of the back of the house from the beach.

Look at Levi jump into the pool for the gazillionth time!

Levi didn't like the "big water" but he liked playing in the sand!!

Here's my two favorite boys!!!

Jenny helped save the day when Bailey got stung by a jellyfish! Thanks Aunt Jenny!!

Here's the path from the pool to the beach. The kids liked walking out the gate into the "big water"!!

Night night, Casey Gracie!

Why is Dad so far away from all the grandkids??

Emmy is mowing the porch while in her walker...very smart!!
