A few funnies

My dad has a really nice, almost brand new F-350. Fire engine red with all the bells and whistles. (I think it even cooks your breakfast for you!) The kids call it the “big red truck”. Well, the other day, Eric and Levi were walking around their property and ran into Dad’s old truck…a faded red & white F-150 that kind of looks similar to Mater on CARS (not that bad, but close!). When Levi saw the old truck, he told Eric “Oh, look Dad, I love Papa’s brand new truck!” :) I guess he had forgotten about the old truck since he hasn’t seen it in a long time.

The other day, Levi and I pulled up to the house and our neighbor was standing out front watering her flowers. She was holding her left arm with her right hand. Levi said, “Oh no, Mom, our neighbor has an arm infection!”
Oh boy…we must have talked ear infections to death!!

Speaking of the “big red truck”, my Dad told Levi he would pick him up from school today. Levi has been so excited this week, I thought he was going to bust! He made sure to tell me, Daddy, his teacher and anyone else that would listen that “Papa is picking me up Thursday…not Grammy…just Papa. Papa and Levi!” :) I love it that Levi gets so excited about spending time with his grandparents. Thanks, Dad…not mom…just dad!! :-)

White girl...

I don't mean this disrespectfully, but I am white. I have little to no rhythm. Don’t get me wrong, I love music…especially praise and worship music, but when it comes to reading music, learning music, or clapping to music, I’m way out in left field. (Or is it right field??) Gretchen tried teaching me “The Electric Slide” a few weeks ago and let’s just say I didn’t take to it very well!! ;) Oh, and Melanie mentioned on our next Girl’s Night Out, we should try line dancing….OUI, Melanie, you don’t know what you’d be in for! I know you can go an hour early to learn, but I don’t think an hour would help me.

I tell you all this because we are learning a new song in choir that has a clapping part. GREAT. My husband is a drummer and I can’t even clap 8 measures in a little choir song. I think I’m already feeling sick and won’t be able to make it to church on Sept. 27th….(when we sing “Everbody Clap Your Hands”)

Eric went out of town overnight, so I tried to take some cute pictures of Levi to show him what we did while he was gone!

Hard at work! I showed Levi how to "squirt the stuff" in the toilet bowls and how you clean it really good with the brush. :) He said "Momma, no girls clean...only boys clean the toilet now!" Oh, I wish...

OH MY...Levi and I were waiting to go to Aunt Tricia's house for a play date and he noticed a praying mantis land outside. He said "Momma, look, the grasshopper is kissing it's baby!" The praying mantis was eating a grasshopper! Glad I didn't have to teach a lesson on the circle of life...

I let Levi dress himself before going to Aunt Tricia's. He got some hand-me-downs from C.J. at church and this is what he picked out...

Levi has a sister???

I’ve talked in some old posts about our friend's Matt & Melanie’s baby, Addie, also nicknamed Addie-button by Levi. Well, we spent Labor Day weekend with them camping out at their house. (See Rather Be Shopping for more fun details!! :)) Well, all weekend long, Levi kept referring to Addie as HIS baby. “Where’s my baby?” “Is my baby crying?” etc. So last night, we’re at Cubbies and here’s a conversation I overheard (and interjected myself in)…

Ms. Lori: (speaking to another child) Do you have a little brother or sister?
Levi: I do! I have a little sister! (Ms. Lori looks at me for confirmation.)
Me: No, Levi, you don’t have a little sister.
Levi: Uh huh, I do. I do Mom. She lives at Corbin’s house (speaking of Addie).
Me: Oh, Addie is not your sister. She’s your friend.
Levi: No, Mom. Addie is my little sister. She lives with Corbin.

Unfortunately, Ms. Lori was very confused about our conversation. Tee hee…

Our little Cubbie

This was week #3 for our Wednesday night Awana program at church. I've never participated before because I'm a little selfish with my "Levi" time in the evenings since I work during the day. This year, I decided that Levi might enjoy going to a class, so I offered to teach in his class. He is in the 3 & 4 year old Cubbies class. The kids have story time with puppets, open gym time (to run off excess energy!!), snack time, craft time and then they get to learn a memory verse each week. If they can recite their verse, they get a stamp and a sticker. This week, Levi got his vest and the longer he participates, he will get patches for his vest. So cute!! He's very proud of his vest.

Last week, he learned "God loved us and sent His son. 1 John 4:10". This week, he recited "...all have sinned. Romans 3:23" and "While we were sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8"

Good job, Levi!!!

Helmet Head

Levi got a new scooter last weekend! He loves it. He has already wiped out once and there was blood - so cool around our house! :)

Fun filled Saturday!

We started Saturday morning with what has become our annual tradition of going to the pancake breakfast and parade for Sellersburg Celebrates. We had a lot of fun!! This year, they had yummy chocolate chip pancakes, sausage patties, orange juice & milk. Levi devoured half a pancake and two sausage patties :)

The parade was a lot of fun this year! Travis, Jenny, Tricia, our freibors, Bob & Jill, our other friend, Jill, and all the kids met us there. It was a lot of fun!!

After the parade, some of us headed over to “Touch a Truck”. They had a gazillion vehicles of ALL kinds for kids to play on! It was really neat. There was a bus, tractor, UPS truck, boat, bucket truck, hummer limo (hilarious!), gator, street sweeper, ambulance, jeep, fire truck, and the list goes on. Levi had a great time getting up close and personal with all the cool stuff!
